BS Biotechnology

The BS in Biotechnology is well-suited for students who have earned Associate’s degree and are looking for a degree completion program to earn their BS degree. The program also targets career changers who are looking to get into the biotech field. The job opportunities over the next several years and decades are vast and diverse. There is a large market for talented students trained in both the sciences and soft-skills to be successful in today’s marketplace. Our students graduate and are ready to take on entry-level positions in the field within manufacturing, research and development, quality control and more. MS in Biotechnology

Northeastern’s MS in Biotechnology is an innovative, non-thesis graduate degree program. It combines advanced interdisciplinary training in biotechnology, biology, chemistry, and pharmaceutical sciences with the development of high-value business skills critical to success in today’s dynamic workplace. MS in Regulatory Affairs for Drugs, Biologics, and Medical Devices

The RGA programs address an educational market segment for biomedical product regulatory affairs professionals, both at the beginning and mid-career level. Students in these programs have the desire to contribute to the formulation and implementation of new global regulatory policies and effective organizational strategies. In addition, students may want to improve their capability to make significant contributions to the pre- and post-commercialization phases of medical device, biologic, and pharmaceutical product development. Back to top.

MS in Bioinformatics

The MS in Bioinformatics program combines core coursework in bioinformatics computational methods, programming, and statistics with graduate electives that offer students the flexibility to specialize and build broader knowledge in both life sciences and computer science.  Back to top.

Micro Credentials: Cell Therapies Workshop

The first workshop in the series offers exposure to the most current and innovative areas available in molecular biotechnology. The following topics will be covered – introduction to molecular biology and cell therapies, stem cell biology and therapies, RNA interference, CRISPR/Cas -9, CAR T-cell immunotherapies, various types of gene therapies, and more. Participants will learn the theory and practical application(s) behind these new technologies, how they are conducted, as well as their potential in facilitating scientific discovery and clinical utilization. Participants will have access to an experiential opportunity and will also have the option to take the course for audit or credit.  Back to top.

Micro Credentials: Intro to Biopharmaceutical Technologies Workshop

The second workshop in the series offers exposure to the basic skills needed to develop a modern-day biopharmaceutical product. The following topics will be covered – DNA fingerprinting, PCR technology, microarrays, gene probes and targeting, expression of cloned gene products, gene cloning strategies, transgenic species, and mutation creation and analysis. Participants will learn the theory and practical application behind these technologies; how they are done, and their power in scientific discovery and treatment. In particular, this workshop will emphasize the latest advances in these classic technologies.  Back to top.

1. Learner Services – Students can access a team of ‘generalist’ advisors trained to work with students via phone and email as needed.

2. Advising (and Career Coaching) Services – each student is paired with a specific academic advisor to provide academic guidance as well as a on-site career and academic coach to support in career planning and location-based planning.

3. Experiential Network (XN) Services – Students work with the XN team, including co-op advisors to provide guidance in helping students find the best opportunity for their academic and career goals. PlusOne – Start taking masters level courses while you finish your bachelors degree. A PlusOne degree program can accelerate receipt of a graduate degree and reduce its cost , since in most cases, a PlusOne degree student can earn a graduate degree with only one additional year of study beyond the bachelor’s.
